St. Paul’s Parish in Summerside held a special evening February 14 for the widows and widowers of the parish.

The evening began with a Mass that was offered for the deceased spouses of the attendees. Some of our catechism children performed ‘The Old Rugged Cross’.

We then proceeded to the Main Hall where Father George said Grace and our Confirmation Students helped serve a turkey dinner – all of which was generously donated from the community.
Door prizes were also donated and distributed. Mary Ratelle who will be celebrating her 100th birthday this year was presented with a special cake.
The catechism students at our parish helped make cards and the Sisters of the Sacred Heart made paper roses which the students distributed to all.
Dinner was followed by entertainment provided by Chad Matthews and company, as well as Donna Dehmel and Claudette Getson.

The evening finished with a candlelight rendition of ‘Circle of Friends’ sung by all volunteers who helped at the event in honor of the Widows and Widowers.
The evening was an amazing opportunity for all present to experience and witness God’s love in action!
