The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops express its heartfelt wishes for the full recovery to Carl Hétu, Executive Director at Development and Peace – Caritas Canada (DPCC) who is now experiencing health issues.
“We have been notified of the circumstance and want to extend our heartfelt sympathies to Carl Hétu. We wish him a full and complete recovery and assure him of our constant prayers.” says Bishop William T. McGrattan, Bishop of Calgary and President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
“We truly appreciate our collaboration and partnership with DPCC and look forward to continue this important work. In the meantime, the CCCB will be ready to work closely with Luke Stocking, Interim Executive Director of DPCC to ensure a seamless continuation of their projects and initiatives.”
Development and Peace – Caritas Canada (DPCC) was established by the Bishops of Canada in 1967 with the mission of advancing integral human development across the Global South. The DPCC’s work are greatly supported by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), which shares its dedication to advancing development based on Catholic social teaching. This commitment is also reflected in the presence of four bishops on the National Council of DPCC, who are dedicated to supporting its mission. In order to address global challenges and promote sustainable development, the DPCC and CCCB also collaborate on advocacy projects, fundraising drives, and awareness initiatives. This cooperative strategy promotes a global Catholic response to the concerns of marginalized communities.
