Moving On

February 8, 2022

Hello Father,

Today the CPHO presented PEI’s “Moving On” three step plan. Some details were given but there will be more details to come. I’ll study the documents as they are released and try and put a guide together. If you want to start some planning, here are the highlights announced that apply to us

February 17th, 2022

  • Organized gatherings (including worship services) will move to 50% capacity. The 6ft distancing rule will be dropped. However, people should continue to spread out throughout the space. Don’t try to put your whole building capacity in one pew!
  • Wedding and funeral receptions are capped at 50 people, not 50% (the liturgy itself falls under the organized gathering rule above)
  • Masking continues as it is
  • Vax Pass continues as is

March 17th, 2022 (estimated date)

  • Organized gatherings (including worship services) will move to 75% capacity. The 6ft distancing rule will be dropped. However, people should continue to spread out throughout the space. Don’t try to put your whole building capacity in one pew!
  • Wedding and funeral receptions are capped at 100 people (the liturgy itself falls under the organized gathering rule above)
  • Masking continues as it is
  • In those situations where the Vax Pass applies to our activities, when we hit Step 2 it will apply to the same sorts of activities but only if it is a gathering of 200 people or more

April 7, 2022 (estimated date)

  • No gathering limits
  • No masking requirement

As usual, these things can be changed but they provide some sense of where the province intends to go. Figuring out what 50% and 75% capacity without the 6ft distancing rule might be the most we can do given today’s information.
