First Communion & Confirmation at St. Dunstan’s 2022

June 14, 2022

Over the past several weeks, children and young adults of St. Dunstan’s Basilica Parish have celebrated the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation. It has been a blessing for families and parishioners to witness their encounter with the Risen Christ!

First Holy Communion was celebrated on two dates, May 1st and June 11th.

The Mass for these children was a joyful, faith-filled event in the life of the children and our parish community.

Their little out-stretched hands eagerly waiting to receive our Lord encouraged our own profound sense of wonder and reverence.

We are grateful for the catechists, parents, and families who have provided our young people with support and witness to our Catholic faith.

Fr. Keith celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday calling down the Holy Spirit upon our young Catholics!

Candidates have prepared over the past year through classes; service projects to instill an understanding of the preferential option for the poor; prayer and discernment; celebrating Reconciliation; and participating in a final retreat.

Our newly confirmed have shown a growing awareness of the Holy Spirit working in their lives.

We pray that with the gifts of the Holy Spirit our young Catholics may always seek to reflect the light and love of Jesus in the world around them!

Remember, then, that you received a spiritual seal: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear. Keep safe what you received. God the Father sealed you, Christ the Lord strengthened you and sent the Spirit into your hearts as the pledge of what is to come.
