Following the recent passing of his father, Charles, we are saddened to hear that Father Brad Sweet now also mourns the loss of his mother, Rita, who died last week.  Father Brad, former Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Wellington, is currently serving as a Chaplain in the Canadian Military. Please keep Father Sweet in your prayers during this difficult time.  Eternal rest grant unto them,  O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May they rest in peace.  Amen.

The Latin American Mission Program invites everyone to the Daniel O’Hanley Memorial Lecture, November 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Hall, 151 Stratford Road, Stratford.  People who are unable to attend in person may join on Zoom.  The theme is: Taking Action for Migrant Workers’ Rights: The Challenge in Front of Us. The long-standing association between macabre organ music and Hallowe’en is celebrated Sunday October 30 at 7 pm at St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral in Charlottetown, when the Royal Canadian College of Organists presents “Spook Organa!”, an evening of creepy stories and music performed by Don Fraser, Leo Marchildon (Diocese of Charlottetown Director of Music), Tom Loney, Clement Carelse and Jason Chen.  Admission is by free will offering.  Children 12 and under are asked to bring along a canned good for the food bank and those who come in costume will receive a complimentary treat bag.

The Annual fall Workshop of Development and Peace-CARITAS Canada takes place on Zoom from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 30. The theme is People and Planet First. Join our guest speakers, Adah Ogbe and others for up-to-date reports on: due diligence campaign, actions to lift millions out of poverty, relief to countries hit by war, famine, drought and more.  For information, call 902-969-2693.

Leave Everything and Pray (LEAP) Retreats are coming! Discovering and Embracing God’s Love: Join us Monday evenings on Zoom from November 7 to December 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a retreat focusing on discovering and embracing God’s love for us as revealed through scripture. This retreat will be based on the First Spiritual Exercises, a book by Michael Hansen SJ.  Each Monday evening will include reflecting on scripture, sharing, a teaching and prayer instructions for the following week. Participants will be provided the prayer material free of charge and there is no fee for the retreat. Local of the Atlantic Association of the Spiritual Exercises Apostolate.
