The Chrism Mass: All are invited to participate in the Chrism Mass this Monday. April 3 at 7 PM in St. Dunstan’s Basilica in Charlottetown. We are very grateful that this year Bishop Martin Currie will preside The Chrism Mass is the special Liturgy where the bishop of a diocese will bless the Oils that will be used in the various Sacraments throughout the year.
There are three oils that are blessed or consecrated:
-The Oil of Catechumens
-The Oil of the Infirm
-The Holy Chrism
The Oil of Catechumens is used during Baptisms.
The Oil of the Infirm is used for the Anointing of the Sick.
Finally, the Holy Chrism is a mixture of olive oil and balsam. This oil is also used at Baptism, but also for Confirmation, Ordinations and at the consecration or dedication of Churches.

End-of-Life Care: Approaching the end of life can be an emotional time for ourselves and our loved ones. During this session we will discuss core concepts to consider in end-of-life care and our role in accompanying others to a natural death. This free session, facilitated by Sr. Rosemary MacDonald, will be held on Wednesday, April 5th, 1:30-3:30 p.m. at The Living Well in Martha Place at 96 Patterson Drive, Charlottetown.
