Beauty: The Invisible Embrace – The session, facilitated by Sister Bernice Steele, will focus on the nature of beauty as a way out of our worldwide crisis, eg. destruction of our common home, consumerism, wars, cynicism, busyness and anger which has left us feeling anxious and uncertain. Beauty is mostly forgotten and made to seem naive and romantic. Beauty can help us to become aware of new ways of being in the world. The time is now ripe for beauty to surprise and free us. Traditional Life of the Mi’kmaq of PEI: In this session, facilitated by Julie Pellissier-Lush, she will share how important Earth is to Indigenous people everywhere with specific stories and histories of the Mi’kmaq of PEI. Learning about the rich traditional life of the Mi’kmaq on PEI through stories, drumming and poetry will inspire us to have this same care for Earth, our common home.
