Facebook Mass from Kensington: Now that regular public Masses are suspended in Prince Edward Island (and many other places in North America) for the duration of the Covid-19 Situation; you’re welcome to join in on the private Sunday Mass from St. Mary’s Holy Family Church in Kensington. Mass begins at 9 AM and can be watched live or anytime at your convenience.

To Prepare for this Sunday’s Mass Read John Chapter 9:1-41 the Story of “The Man Born Blind”. Then, in your head, answer this question “If I was going to talk about this Gospel story for 15 minutes, what would I say?” It is always interesting to find out what The Holy Spirit wants us to discover as we ponder the Living Word of God.

The songs for Mass are: CBWIII#582 Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness, Psalm #23, CBWIII#622 I Will Sweep Away Your Transgressions Celebrate in Song 6.2 Dona Nobis Pacem CBWIII#534 Let All Things Now Living And don’t be afraid to sing along as loud as you can!

The Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,  are planning to have a discernment retreat at our convent in Summerside, April 24 to 26.

I am forwarding you the poster with the information about this retreat.

Would you please print it in your bulletin and at the same time place a copy of the poster in a prominent place in the church where it will be easily seen.

If you know of any young woman that is thinking of a possible vocation to religious life, we would greatly appreciate it if you would personally encourage her to attend this retreat.

Thank you for your help, Sr. Margherita SCGR

Nurture Life, Oppose Death on Demand! Contact Your Member of Parliament Today!  The federal government has tabled legislation to expand what they refer to as medical assistance in dying but is more accurately called euthanasia/assisted suicide. More than 13,000 Canadians have been euthanized since 2016. New legislation would make assisted death available to those without life-threatening illnesses including those with disabilities and those no longer capable of making decisions for themselves. Some Canadians may even be euthanized on the same day they make the request. Visit www.helptheliving.ca to send a letter (prepared for you) to your Member of Parliament expressing deep concern. The process takes less than 5 minutes. More information can also be found at: www.archtoronto.org/euthanasia. We continue to pray and advocate for the vulnerable among us.

We are all stewards of the resources, abilities and opportunities God has placed in our care.  Your Parish and Diocese are grateful for your assistance in carrying out the work of the Church in our community.  If you wish to remember the Church’s mission and consider a Gift now or at estate planning time, please visit us at www.dioceseofcharlottetown.com and click on the “Planned Giving” quick link.
