This year’s Ash Wednesday collection for the bishop’s projects will go toward the following: Bedford MacDonald House for men, Blooming House for women, the Upper Room food ministry for the poor and to support local refugee efforts.

HOLY REDEEMER PARISH MISSION: will be held on Sunday, March 8 to Tuesday, March 10 from 7 – 8:30 pm at 3 Pond St., Ch’town.  Fr. Raymond Lafontaine, Episcopal Vicar for all English parishes of the Archdiocese of Montreal will be the presenter.  The theme of the Mission is Rejoice and Be Glad: Pope Francis’ Roadmap for Holiness and Mission.  As an introduction to our Mission there will be a film presentation of Pope Francis: A Man of His Word (2018) on Friday, March 6th at 7:00 in the church.  (Optional, but strongly encouraged) All are welcome. 

First Saturday Gathering Invitation: There will be a gathering on March 7 after the Saturday 4:00 pm Mass in the Knight of Columbus room.  The presentation is on The Holy Rosary.  There will be light lunch, fellowship and rosary. Pray for justice this Lent by participating in the Steps to Justice Solidarity Walk on Sunday, March 15th.  Hosted by the UPEI Chaplaincy Centre and Diocesan Youth Office, we will walk in solidarity and pray for the environment.  Gather at 4:00 pm at the Chaplaincy Centre, UPEI Campus. Walk will conclude by 5:30. Participants are welcome to join the UPEI Chaplaincy Centre community for Sunday Mass at 6 pm.  This event is open to all.

The St Dunstan’s University Institute of Christianity and Culture at UPEI invites the public to a lecture entitled, “Human Gene Editing: Ethics and Regulatory Landscape in Europe” by Father Emmanuel Agius professor of Moral Theology and Philosophical Ethics at the University of Malta.   Father Agius is a member of the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies and a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life.    The lecture will be held on Wednesday March 4th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in the lecture theatre of the K.C. Irving Chemistry Centre on the UPEI campus.  Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

Our Lady of the Cape
