World Day Of Prayer for Consecrated Life 2024

February 3, 2024

Friday evening, February 2, many members of the religious orders serving on Prince Edward Island gathered at Holy Redeemer Parish in Charlottetown for dinner and Mass.

Sister Sue Kidd cnd reported on her Facebook Post: “We did it! 45 Religious women and men had supper, inter-congregational seating plan then over to Holy Redeemer church for mass. Religious women and men renewed our vows and all gathered prayed A Prayer for Abundant Hope. More photos to come as several were clicking. Grateful for so many things – consecrated life, gatherings, and weather!”

Fr. Peter Wojakiewicz CSMA said: “On this Friday, Feb 2, we commemorate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. It is a day dedicated to prayer, particularly for individuals called to embrace religious life, and a day of seeking new vocations to religious life. Bishop Joseph presided over a special Mass and engaged with members from various religious families serving in our Diocese.”

We are thankful for service that all these religious orders have given to the diocese in the past and we pray for their good health and many more years to come.
