Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we reflect on the rich history of our diocese, we are reminded of the generosity of past generations,
whose kindness and foresight continue to bless us today. A vivid example of this legacy is the lasting gift
from the estate of Mr. Owen Kelly, a former St. Paul’s parishioner. His generosity funded the purchase of
the Casavant pipe organ at St. Dunstan’s Basilica, supports ministries at St. Paul’s, aids the catechetical
work of our diocese, and contributed to building Our Lady of Hope Retreat Centre. His legacy continues
to enrich our faith communities.
Such spirit of charity and generosity has long been at the heart of our community, making a lasting impact on our parishes, diocese and countless lives, including our own.
We are truly blessed to inherit this legacy of faith and generosity, which continues to inspire and sustain
our ministry each day. Through your generosity, people’s lives across the diocese and Island are being
enriched and transformed by the various outreach programs and ministries we offer.
While the weekly collections help meet the basic operational costs of our parishes, it is through special
gifts—whether in the form of bequests, gifts in kind, or monetary donations—that we are able to build a
sustainable future. By remembering the Church in your will, you not only express your gratitude for the
faith that has shaped your life but also help ensure that future generations will be able to experience the
blessings of a thriving parish and diocese.
I invite you to read the enclosed brochure to learn more about how you can leave a lasting legacy. Your
generosity will have a profound impact on the future of your parish and diocese.
I want to thank you, in advance, for your consideration of supporting the Church through a legacy gift.
May God continue to grant us wisdom, vision, and discernment as we seek to be faithful and fruitful in all
that we do.
Peace and blessings,
Most Rev. Joseph Dabrowski, CSMA Bishop of Charlottetown
