On Sunday, October 22, we were pleased to have Bishop Joseph Dabrowski visit St. Joachim’s Parish for the first time and preside at Mass.

A celebration of our 100th Anniversary included dinner, presentation of service pins, remembrance of deceased members and fellowship followed at the Parish Hall.

We were pleased to have so many current members, family members of former members, PEI Provincial CWL executive and neighboring CWL members join in our celebration.

With the union of the two existing parish groups – the Altar Society and St. Anne’s Guild, St. Joachim’s CWL, Charter # 251 in the National League records dated August 23,1923 was formed.
Today, we have 95 members.
The needs of the parish have changed over the years and our programs have changed to meet those needs. The CWL continues to support many local charities, national commitments and parish activities.
The main objectives of the CWL continue in a caring and supportive way with each member contributing her skills and talents for the betterment of Church and community – hence our motto – for God and Canada.
To those ladies who have gone before us who laid the foundation and persevered in their endeavors, we owe a great debt of gratitude for their faith in the Catholic Church, the CWL and each other. For it was through the sacrifices, service and goodwill of the members over the years that have brought us to this 100th celebration; let us remember them.
