Sunday, December 1, marked Our Lady of Hope Retreat Centre’s second Annual Roast Turkey Dinner in aid of the North Rustico Food Bank.
There were a total of 576 Turkey Dinners sold!
This year, there were 87 turkey dinners brought to the North Rustico Food Bank and distributed to clients so that they could have a wholesome turkey dinner with dessert at this time of the year.
Something unique which continues to happen is that many individuals and corporations who purchase tickets for the dinner then donate these tickets to those who are experiencing hardship in the community.
It was a pleasure for the staff, family, and friends to give freely of their time to see this endeavor become a reality.
They were also blessed to have Bishop Joseph work side by side with staff preparing the meals.

They had volunteers from the age of 3 to 87.

It was very inspiring to have an 87-year-old lady volunteer to serve with the staff.
The youngest volunteer was 3 years old, and he was so happy to deliver the meals to many parishioners and individuals who came from across the Island.

The staff had fun getting ready for this event knowing that what they were doing was helping to spread love and joy to everyone.

As a result of all those who contributed to this endeavor, Our Lady of Hope Retreat Centre staff were very happy to present a cheque with Bishop Joseph in the amount of $4500 to Donny Blacquiere for the local North Rustico Food Bank.
