Fr. Keith Gets A Cake (and Vegetables)

June 29, 2024

Give Your Priest A Cake Month (aka June) was celebrated at the Basilica in Charlottetown. Here is the report from Sandra:

When the staff at St. Dunstan’s Basilica Parish saw the post on the Diocesan website that read June is “Give Your Priest a Cake” month, we thought that that was a wonderful idea!

Here is Fr. Keith receiving a thank-you cake from the staff and one of our volunteers.

“We are filled with gratitude for your care, Fr. Keith. Thank you for your homilies that make us proud to be Catholic! You encourage us, you pray for us, you comfort us.

Thank you for revealing to us a life lived for others. So, on the day of the Memorial of St. Irenaeus, we say that you are an inspiring example of what St. Irenaeus meant when he said, ‘The glory of God is man fully alive.’ May God bless you and keep you!”

With blessings and peace, Sandra

This year there will be a few more priests moving to new assignments in both July and September so the opportunity to give your priest a cake expands deep into the Summer. If your parish does give a cake (ice cream cakes count also) to your priest for any reason (anniversary, birthday, especially memorable homily series, getting out of hospital etc.) send a couple of pictures along and we will share the happy event to all!
