A NET Retreat is coming to a parish near you! A team of dynamic young adults is travelling across Canada leading retreats. They will be in our Diocese November 9-17. NET Retreats include high energy skits and fun, along with opportunities for small group discussion and prayer. Upcoming retreats are being held at:
a. King’s County: All Saints, Parish in Cardigan on November 13, 2-7pm
b. West Prince County: St. Simon & St. Jude Parish in Tignish on Sunday, November 12, beginning at 10am
c. East Prince County: St. Paul’s Parish in Summerside on Friday, November 17, 9am-5pm. Registration is available at: https://stpaulsparish.ca/youth-ministry.
d. Queen’s County: **St. Dunstan’s Basilica, Charlottetown, hosted by the Crew, Thursday November 16 9am-4pm

The Latin American Mission Program (LAMP) is presenting the 31st annual Daniel O’Hanley Memorial Lecture on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Hall, 151 Stratford Rd, Stratford. The theme of the event is Colombia: Understanding the Structures of a Conflict. Similar structures are the basis of social and political conflicts in Canada and the current wars in Europe and the Middle East. The presenter is Reverend John Molina, who immigrated to Canada as a refugee from Colombia in 1999. He is a member of LAMP and currently serves as pastor of St. Simon and St Jude Parish in Tignish. Introduction to Carmelite Spirituality – December 14 – Immaculate Conception Parish, Richmond – starting at 7pm with Holy Mass followed by Veneration of a 1st Class relic of St. John of the Cross. Come and hear, Melanie Melanson, Provincial Seniors Navigator, who is responsible for enhancing access to information. She will share with us information and services available to seniors. In addition she will relate navigational experiences of near seniors, seniors, their caregivers, and family members. Reserve Sunday December 10th for a Roast Turkey TAKE-OUT Dinner. Tickets must be purchased in advance, either in person or by phone, from Our Lady of Hope Retreat Centre, 67 Reid Road, Stanley Bridge, 902-388-1952. Meals are to be picked up between 4 and 5:30 pm on December 10th at Our Lady of Hope. The cost is $10 per meal, with all proceeds going to the local food bank. Thinking about an Advent act of charity? Purchase a few tickets to donate to people who cannot afford a meal! The last day to get tickets is Sunday December 3rd.

Watch two new Advent series on FORMED to help you prepare for Christ’s coming! Rooted: Rediscover the Jesse Tree This Advent – Hosted by Dr. Scott Hefelfinger, each seven-minute reflection helps Catholics apply Scripture to daily life using the Jesse Tree model traditionally practiced by families. Drawing Closer To God: A Catholic Art Show for Kids – Join art teacher Ms. Kim as she teaches children to draw different scenes from the Nativity story. As kids learn new art skills, they also begin to see the connections between the big picture of God’s story and their place within it. NET Retreat… NET is back in Summerside for a Junior High & High School retreat at St. Paul’s on November 17th from 9:00AM – 5:00PM. Parents are invited to join their youth for the 4:30PM Mass. The St. Francis of Assisi CWL presents: Listen to the Whispers of your mind, heart and body workshop, Saturday, November 25th, 8:30am to 1:30pm at St. Francis of Assisi in Cornwall. We have 3 great speakers lined up on engaging topics: Heart – The Palliative Care Story (Provincial Palliative Care Team); Mind – The Spirituality of Music (Leo Marchildon, Music Director Diocese of Charlottetown); Soul – Life of St. Augustine (Ariana Patey, Prof. of Religious Studies, UPEI). Lunch will be provided. ALL are invited, near and far! It is shaping up to be a meaningful Christ-filled day….a wonderful way to begin the Advent season!
