Join the Faculty Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies and the Mawi’omi Centre at UPEI on Thursday May 25th from 10am to 11am for a guest lecture from Hon. Graydon Nicolas about Catholic inculturation in the Indigenous context. Originally from Tobique First Nation, Hon. Graydon Nicolas is a distinguished and highly respected Wolastoqey Elder, lawyer, judge, social worker, and activist who is excited to share his knowledge and understanding. This free event will be in McDougall Hall (room 242) and will have refreshments provided for those who attend. It is open to the public and we welcome anyone who wishes to attend.

The parishioners of Our Lady of the Assumption in Stratford cordially invite you to a 25th Ordination Anniversary Celebration for Fr. James Willick to be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish on Sunday, June 4th, 2023. Mass will be celebrated at 11 am with a reception to follow in the parish hall.


Heart-of-the-Matter Marriage Preparation course will be offered in Charlottetown, on May 26th & 27th. This is a Friday evening and all day Saturday in-person course. We are pleased to invite you to a free webinar hosted by the CCCB Office for Family and Life. The webinar, entitled “Concrete Ways to Renew Practices of Family Holiness,” will be held on Saturday, 3 June 2023, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. EDT (* 2:00 to 3:30 ADT*) and will be facilitated by Msgr. Philippe Bordeyne, President of the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences (Rome, Italy). It will be presented in French with simultaneous translation into English. This event is open to anyone from dioceses, parishes, related organizations or groups who may be interested in the proposed content. Saint Dunstan’s University Bursary: Students are reminded that there has been a change to the SDU Bursary program- beginning with the 2023-2024 academic year the SDU Bursary will increase in value to $1,500. Application form and criteria are available on the Saint Dunstan’s University website, https://saintdunstansuniversity.ca . Application deadline is August 31, 2023. A maximum of 175 bursaries will be awarded for the coming academic year. Also note that the SDU Board of Governors High School award has been discontinued. As many schools may not have administrative staff during July and August you are advised to make arrangements to have your transcript sent prior to the end of June.


A special choir is being assembled to sing at the Installation of our new Bishop at St. Dunstan’s Basilica on Thursday June 29 at 3 pm. Anyone wishing to sing in the choir is asked to attend two rehearsals on Tuesday evenings June 20th and 27th starting at 6:30 in the church.
