Saturday, October 4, 2025 – five couples were united in the Sacrament of Marriage at a special Group Wedding Celebration — one of the Jubilee Year initiatives of the Diocese of Charlottetown.
Many of these couples had already been married civilly, raising families and building their lives together, but until now had not been able to celebrate their marriage in the Catholic Church. In the spirit of the Jubilee, the marriage preparation course and the wedding celebration were offered to them as a gift from the Church.
Bishop Joseph presided at the wedding Mass, with St. Dunstan’s Basilica filled with family, friends, and parishioners — a true time of joy, celebration, and Jubilee. It was a beautiful witness of God’s love, of patient commitment, and of the grace that flows from the Sacrament of Marriage.
We give thanks for these couples who said yes to inviting Christ into their marriage, just as the couple at Cana welcomed Him into their wedding feast. May their love continue to be a sign of hope to their families, their communities, and our entire Church.
