A Bus-Full Heads to Steubenville Atlantic

July 17, 2023

Eleven chaperones, three peer leaders, and 39 high school students from the Diocese of Charlottetown attended Steubenville Atlantic Youth Conference. This was the largest group in recent years to attend the conference.

It is an opportunity for the young people in our diocese to join with hundreds of others from across the Maritimes to grow in faith and community. Regular features of the conference include talks, Mass, and amazing praise and worship music. A highlight for many young people is Adoration on Friday and Saturday night. This year, students particularly enjoyed the men’s and women’s breakout sessions, as well as a Q and A with one of the speakers.

This year, the bus made three stops across the Diocese to pick up participants, before heading off to Halifax. At the final stop, at St. Paul’s Parish, in Summerside, Bishop Joseph joined the group for words of encouragement and a blessing for their travels.

The trip wouldn’t happen without the chaperones who accompany the youth participants. It is an opportunity to help young people grow in their faith, and to deepen their own.

Steubenville Atlantic is an annual conference hosted by the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth at Dalhousie University. This year is was held, July 7-9.
