800th Anniversary of the Stigmata

September 25, 2024

The recent celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Stigmata of St. Francis of Assisi, hosted by Brother Leo Fraternity in Montague, took place September 17th at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. The celebrant for Mass was Fr. Jim and was concelebrated by Fr. Brian as the homilist, Fr. Peter, Fr. Danny, Fr. Andrew, and Deacon Howard was a participant.

The Mass celebrated the prayer answered by God to St. Francis as he desired to experience the suffering and love of our Savior. St. Francis was marked with the wounds of Christ on his body and in his heart. St. Francis’ life was one of compassion for the suffering and love of all. The Mass was followed by fellowship in the Parish Hall. Thank you to Fr. Jim and the parish for opening their doors and their hearts for the celebration of this event. Thank you to Franciscans Doug and Marion Clorey for liturgy and music ministry. The celebration was well attended!
