Vision for Pastoral Renewal of the Diocese of Charlottetown officially launched

September 29, 2025

Sunday, September 28, 2025 – Bishop Joseph gathered at St. Dunstan’s Basilica with priests, religious women and men, and many faithful from across the Diocese to celebrate Mass during which he officially launched the Vision for Pastoral Renewal of the Diocese of Charlottetown.

In his homily, Bishop Joseph reminded the faithful: “Pastoral renewal is not simply a set of programs or initiatives; it is a spiritual invitation for each of us to deepen our relationship with the Lord, rekindle the flame of our faith, equip leaders and the faithful to live their mission with courage and confidence and rediscover the joy of the Gospel.”

Echoing the words of Pope Francis, Bishop Joseph added that the Church is called to be “a community of missionary disciples who take the first step, who are involved and supportive, who bear fruit and rejoice” (Evangelii Gaudium).

The Bishop entrusted this new journey to Mary, Mother of Evangelization, and to St. Dunstan, patron of the Diocese, praying that the Holy Spirit will guide our local Church in this new season of grace.

More information and the official text of the Vision for Pastoral Renewal will be available on this diocesan website this week and in all parishes on the weekend of October 4-5, 2025.
