Update on the Bishop’s Dinner

December 22, 2025

On behalf of Bishop Joseph Dabrowski, CSMA, the Diocese of Charlottetown is pleased to share a further update on the inaugural Bishop’s Dinner, held on October 1, 2025.

As announced on December 14, the Dinner raised $52,595.72 thanks to the generosity of attendees and donors. These funds reflect a shared commitment to the mission of the Church, pastoral renewal, charitable outreach, and service across Prince Edward Island.

The funds are securely held by the Diocese and will support mission-oriented initiatives with lasting impact. Following the December 16 meeting of the Bishop’s Dinner Advisory Committee established by Bishop Dabrowski, the Bishop approved the following allocation:

1. Support for Newly Arrived and International Priests – 25%

Funds will be dedicated to support newly arrived and international priests through professional language development, including English proficiency training, accent clarity and pronunciation training, public speaking training, and pastoral communication skills, as needed. This support will help priests minister more confidently and effectively within our parish communities.

2. Charitable Outreach in Pastoral Units – 25%

Funds will be made available to support charitable outreach within our pastoral units. Each pastoral unit may apply annually, through a simple application process, for up to $750 to assist local charitable initiatives that serve those most in need.

3. Pastoral Priorities at the Discretion of the Bishop – 50%

Funds will support broader pastoral priorities, including renewal initiatives, youth ministry, and emerging diocesan needs.

Bishop Dabrowski extends his sincere gratitude to the Bishop’s Dinner Committee, the Bishop’s Dinner Advisory Committee, and all who supported this initiative. Your generosity will continue to bear fruit in our diocesan community.

May the joy of the Nativity of Our Lord fill your hearts and homes.
Wishing you a blessed and Merry Christmas and a grace-filled New Year.
