Stubenville 2025

What a grace-filled and unforgettable weekend!

Fifty young people from the Diocese of Charlottetown joined hundreds of others at the Steubenville Atlantic Conference in Halifax, July 11 – 13, and it was an experience that ignited hearts with joy, faith, and the transforming power of God.

Steubenville Conferences are all about evangelizing, equipping, and empowering youth from grades 9–12 to become radical, joyful disciples of Christ. Over three powerful days, our young people encountered God in dynamic keynote talks, passionate praise and worship, Eucharistic Adoration, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and powerful moments of prayer and testimony.

They danced, they sang, they cried, they laughed — and above all, they experienced the deep love and presence of Jesus in a personal and unforgettable way. From powerful witnesses of faith to new friendships and Spirit-filled moments, God truly moved in the hearts of our youth.

Bishop Joseph, in a powerful and heartfelt homily on Sunday, shared with young people a message of purpose, courage, and deep faith. He reminded them that God loves them, walks with them, and calls them to be pilgrims of hope in a hurting world.

Drawing from the inspiring lives of Blessed Carlo Acutis, whose relics Bishop Joseph brought with him, and Tony Melendez, he encouraged youth to live boldly, serve generously, and trust in God’s plan, no matter their struggles.

Bishop Joseph taught the youth a Spanish praise song, “Alabaré,” and even played it on his guitar, just like Tony once did before St. John Paul II — filling the hall with joy, music, and hope!
