We celebrated the opening of the Jubilee Year on December 29 with the Most Reverend Joseph Dabrowski, Bishop of Charlottetown, with priests, consecrated men and women, and many faithful at St. Dunstan’s Basilica.
In his homily, Bishop Joseph reflected on the Holy Family as pilgrims of hope, navigating life’s journeys with faith and trust in God’s presence. He drew parallels between their experiences—such as searching for the lost Jesus—and the struggles families face today, offering the Holy Family as a model of hope, faith, and perseverance.
He invited the faithful to participate in the Jubilee Year celebrations and events which the Diocese has prepared throughout the Jubilee Year as an opportunity to rediscover and share our faith, strengthen family bonds, and live as missionary disciples.
Bishop Joseph said, “Even when we feel that God is distant, we may find Him in unexpected places if we continue searching.”
