Everyone welcome to St. Anne’s Sunday celebrations!

July 15, 2025

All are welcome to attend St. Anne’s Sunday celebrations on Lennox Island on July 27, 2025.

St. Anne’s Sunday 2024

Beginning at 11 am, this full-day celebration begins with Mass with Bishop Joseph Dabrowski, and continues with a parade, food, kid’s activities, and live music featuring Mi’kmaq artist Hubert Francis. The day wraps up with fireworks at dusk.

St. Anne’s Sunday is a special gathering which began in the 1600s when French missionaries introduced Catholicism to the Mi’kmaq people. Grand Chief Membertou recognized the connection between Christian symbols and Indigenous spiritual practices which continue today.
