Bishops of Canada Meet in Montreal

September 15, 2025

Next week, from September 22–26, 2025, Catholic bishops from across the country will gather in Montreal for their annual Plenary Assembly. This meeting is a time for prayer, reflection, and important conversations about how the Church in Canada can continue to grow in faith and respond to today’s challenges.

Topics this year include strengthening Christian unity, safeguarding children and vulnerable persons, supporting the Synod on Synodality, and reflecting on new issues like artificial intelligence. The bishops will also mark the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, an important milestone in Christian history.

We invite you to pray for the bishops during this gathering, that the Holy Spirit may guide their work in service of the Church and the people of God.
