April 3, 2025

On March 13th, Bishop Joseph celebrated Mass for the Syro-Malabar community in Charlottetown, accompanied by concelebrant Father George Palamattam, their dedicated priest chaplain. The community warmly welcomed Bishop Joseph, expressing their heartfelt gratitude for his presence and the ongoing support offered to them.

In his homily, Bishop Joseph called upon the Syro-Malabar community to embrace their faith journey as ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ during this special Jubilee Year celebrated in the Catholic Church. He urged them to acknowledge God’s grace at work during challenging times, drawing a powerful parallel to the moment of Jesus’s transfiguration on the mountaintop.

Bishop Joseph expressed appreciation for the community’s dedication to preserving their rich traditions, strong family values, and steadfast faith in God. “These are the sources of strength that sustain us through life’s joys and trials,” he said.

Through touching stories, Bishop Joseph reflected on how moments of love and sacrifice—even in the face of suffering—serve as powerful signs of God’s presence among us. He reminded everyone that small acts of mercy, forgiveness, and generosity are unmistakable glimpses of heaven breaking into our everyday lives.
