Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I invite you to keep in your prayers the priests from our diocese who will be attending a five-day common retreat this week focused on reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal led by Archbishop Peter Hundt. It is always a wonderful spiritual and fraternal bonding experience!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support and the sincere love you hold for them in your hearts.
On June 27, 2025, we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. On this day, we will also observe the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests; a precious occasion for priests to thank the Lord for the wonderful gift of the priesthood, to renew their commitment to grow in holiness, and to always be faithful to Christ and His Church.
On this day, we pray for our priests, that their words may always be Christ’s words, their gestures always Christ’s gestures, and that their lives may continuously reflect His love. We pray that they may never become discouraged by the difficulties of their ministry but rather be energized by the challenges—guiding them to look constantly and closely toward Jesus, who made the Cross the instrument of love and divine mercy, transforming the heart of every person.
I invite you to join me in continuing to pray for our priests and for one another so that we may all become holy, as our Heavenly Father is Holy.
Truly yours in Christ,
The Most Rev. Joseph Dabrowski
Bishop of Charlottetown
