Volunteers Honoured

Fr. Joseph Dovari, Pastor of Holy Redeemer Parish, Charlottetown honoured five couples of the parish representing different aspects of volunteer service within our parish faith community for their years of service to the parish community.


Each couple were presented with an Apostolic Papal Blessing from Pope Francis.

Those honoured included:

Hubert and Mae McIsaac, for music ministry, weekly visits to parishioners in hospital and nursing homes, coordination of weekly Masses at Hillsborough Hospital and Prince Edward Home  

Helen and Jim Larkin, for multiple years service as President of CWL, teaching catechism, leadership in several aspects of parish life and for representing the parish on a diocesan committee regarding the establishment of a new cemetery to meet the needs of the Catholic community of the greater Charlottetown area.

Margaret and George Casford, for their 15 years of leadership in providing encouragement, faith instruction and assistance for all parents wishing to have their child baptized. Also, for teaching catechism and for their active role in the preparation and decorating of the sanctuary and church for the various feasts and liturgical seasons.

Don and Mary Martin, for  leadership as Grand Knight of the Holy Redeemer  council of the Knights of Columbus and generous support with parish hospitality initiatives.

Phyllis and Ralph Dunn for their contribution to the work of St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Redeemer, for leadership as Chair of the Parish Finance Committee and for years of service with the Knights of Columbus.and numerous parish activities.

Fr. Joseph emphasized that these presentations were symbolic of the joy and appreciation that he and the Holy Redeemer parish have for all volunteers who generously serve the parish family.
