Friday, May 31, Bishop Richard invited members of the Retreat Centre Advisory Committee and the Diocesan Communications Committee to a celebratory luncheon to mark the wrapping up of their committees’ service to the diocese.
Festivities began with Mass celebrated in the Diocesan Centre Chapel on the Feast of the Visitation.
Following Mass there was a fine chicken dinner served in one of the rooms adjacent to the kitchen.
After all were satisfied conversation continued over coffee and lemon meringue pie.
Bishop Richard offered remarks congratulating all and especially appreciative of the volunteer work that is done all through the church. “This is a part of our call to service in Christ that we receive through Baptism and Confirmation.” Bishop Richard said.
Mrs. Marion Murphy, a member of the Retreat Centre Advisory Committee, shared how she has observed in her life “as one phase of service closes another way of service opens. And that all of us should look forward to the next place where the Lord is calling us to serve.”
We are all grateful for the recognition and looking forward to what comes next.
