My name is Zoe Stewart-Bedard and I work for the deVeber Institute for Bioethics and Social Research. The deVeber is run by two Catholic women and we carry out all our work based on the guiding principle of the inherent value and dignity of all human life. Our work is supported by many Catholic organizations, including ShareLife and Cardus.
I am excited to inform you that we will be hosting a lecture entitled “Life Issues: The Indigenous Perspective” on October 5, 2021 at 8pm (ET) via Zoom.
This lecture will feature presentations from a panel of Indigenous midwives, focused on the importance of bringing home, and a presentation from Dr. Carrie Bourassa on end-of-life practices and the need of decolonized health care. I’ve included a poster that has further information about the speakers and the lectures.
I’m hoping that you might be able to share details about this lecture and the poster with your parishioners. We would truly appreciate it if you’re able to include “Life Issues: The Indigenous Perspective” in your upcoming events calendar or newsletter.
I look forward to speaking with you further.
