Bulletin Announcements June 5 to 15

The PEI Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists will present a “Progressive Concert” on Sunday the 23rd of June. Local organists will present a ½ hour concert at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Charlottetown, at 1:30 pm. The concert will then move to Trinity United Church for another ½ hour of music at 2:30 pm. The “Progressive Concert” will conclude with a final ½ hour of organ music at St Dunstan’s Basilica beginning at 3:30 pm. You are invited to attend one, two, or all three portions of the concert. Admission is free. An optional free will offering will be dedicated to funding a scholarship for local organ students

Mark your calendars:  NET Ministries will have a team of Missionaries offering retreats in our Diocese from November 5-13, 2019.   If you are interested in hosting a NET retreat, and would like to book now, you can do so by contacting Lauren van Vliet at youth@dioceseofcharlottetown.com.  Retreats are booked on a first come, first served basis.  NET is developing new retreat themes and content for next year.   Parishes who have a retreat will need to provide host homes for approximately twelve missionaries on the night of their retreat.   More details about retreat themes and hosting details will be available in the fall.

Mikinduri Children of Hope is partnering with the Indian River Festival for a Father’s Day show, 16 June, featuring the Ross Family Band and Storyteller David Weale.  Tickets are $32 for the show at 8 pm or $42 for the show and pre-show food at 6 pm.    Celebrate Dad/Grampa while helping to relieve poverty in Kenya.   Call Elaine Black at 569-9124 for tickets.

The Sisters and Associates of the Congregation of Notre Dame invite you to join them in the Celebration of the Eucharist in anticipation of the 400th birthday of their foundress, St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, on Sunday, June 16 at 10:30 am at St. Dunstan’s Basilica in Charlottetown. 


Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: Want to experience something of the life of Jesus? Do you want to experience the places that our Lord walked and where He spoke to the people? Join Fr. Andrew Handrahan on a guided pilgrimage to some of Israel’s holy sites. From October 21st-29th, 2020, the pilgrimage will travel to the Holy Land and visit such places as Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Mount of Transfiguration, Jerusalem, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Step into the River Jordan where Jesus was baptized, and stand on the hill where Jesus gave his sermon on the mount; walk through the places that our Lord himself walked, and experience the city of Jerusalem as you make the way of the cross which Jesus suffered.
