Martha Spirituality Centre (902-367-3103 or srgemma@eastlink,ca) presents a LENTEN RETREAT on Sat. Feb. 17 from 10am-3pm. Theme is Sacramentality of the Present Moment with facilitator is Dr. Beverley Musgrave, a retreat director from the Retreat Centre in Halifax. Cost $30 per person or $50 a couple. Need to register as space is limited.

Lenten Formation at the Good Shepherd Pastoral Unit’s St Clair School of Faith (To be held at St Francis of Assisi Church in Cornwall.) 1) “Exploring Franciscan Spirituality” A Series Presented by the St Francis of Assisi Fraternity. Four Tuesday evening presentations (Feb 27, March 6, 13 & 20 at 7:00 PM), exploring the life and charisma of St Francis and St Clair of Assisi and how it challenges us today. (open to everyone) 2) “A Reading of the Letter of Paul to the Galatians” A Seminar directed by Fr. John Molina. Four Wednesday evening Sessions (Feb 28, March 7, 14 & 21 at 7:00 PM), studying, analyzing and exploring the history and theology of the document. (10 participants only)

Promoting Mental Health in Seniors: Challenges and StrategiesAn interactive community symposium; will be held at the Murphy’s Community Centre, 200 Richmond St., Charlottetown on Saturday, February 24, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. (Storm date: March 17). There is no fee for the event. Snacks will be provided. Travel and child/elder care subsidies are available on request. (NOTE: Registration deadline is February 20) The purpose of the symposium is to engage ordinary people of the wider community in developing effective ways to promote seniors’ mental health. This especially involves seniors and others adopting practices for themselves, and speaking out to demand programs based on prevention. LENTEN SUNDAY MASS AT 7:00 PM:  Having in mind that some people work during the weekends and would like an opportunity to go to Sunday Mass, we will be celebrating the Holy Eucharist on Sunday’s at 7:00 PM (during the Season of Lent ONLY) at St Francis of Assisi Parish in Cornwall.

Pilgrimage to Shrines of Italy:  Join Fr. Andrew Handrahan on a guided pilgrimage to some of Italy’s holy sites.  From November 6-16th, 2018, the pilgrimage will travel to Italy and visit such places as Rome, Vatican City, Assisi, San Giovanni Rotunda, and Montecassino.  See the relics of St. Benedict, and the place where St. Michael the Archangel appeared; walk through the Catacombs of Rome, and breath in the air of the picturesque town of St. Francis; experience St. Peter’s basilica in Vatican City, and be present for the Holy Father’s Wednesday audience.  An information session will be held at the CAA travel agency location in Charlottetown on February 20th at 6:30PM.  Contact Krisanne Butler at CAA Travel for more information:kbutler@atlantic.caa.ca or at 902-892-0296.
