Make a Marriage Encounter

World Day of Prayer Ecumenical Service will be held at St. Dunstan’s Basilica Friday, March 2 at 3:30 pm.  The theme “All God’s Creation is Very Good” was written by the South American country of Suriname.  This prayer service joins Christians from over 170 countries world-wide.  All are welcome.  (Snow date is Sunday, March 4 at 2:30 pm).

Pilgrimage to Shrines of Italy:  Join Fr. Andrew Handrahan on a guided pilgrimage to some of Italy’s holy sites.  From November 6-16th, 2018, the pilgrimage will travel to Italy and visit such places as Rome, Vatican City, Assisi, San Giovanni Rotunda, and Montecassino.  See the relics of St. Benedict, and the place where St. Michael the Archangel appeared; walk through the Catacombs of Rome, and breathe in the air of the picturesque town of St. Francis; experience St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, and be present for the Holy Father’s Wednesday audience.  An information session will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish Church, Richmond, on March 16th at 6:00 PM.  Contact Krisanne Butler at CAA Travel for more information: kbutler@atlantic.caa.ca or at 902-892-0296.

Diocesan Receptionist and Administrative Assistant is Retiring:  Liz MacDonald is retiring from her position at the Diocesan Catholic Centre at the end of May, 2018.  This brings to a close a rewarding career of fifteen years in which Liz was the friendly face greeting visitors, liaising with priests, and representatives of parishes and service organizations such as the CWL, Knights of Columbus and Development and Peace. Over these years Liz has also provided administrative support service to the many staff that work in the Diocesan Centre.

Martha Spirituality Centre (902-367-3103 or srgemma@eastlink.ca) presents a 4-part series on Contemplating the Sacred in Everyday Life on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 pm on Feb. 28, March 14 and 28 and April 11.  This is a time to reflect on what is sacred, where God is in my life and how do I pray in my busy everyday life.  Need to register by Feb. 26.  Cost $25. Coordinated by Leah Michaud and Sr. Regina McQuaid.

LENTEN SUNDAY MASS AT 7:00 PM:  Having in mind that some people work during the weekends and would like an opportunity to go to Sunday Mass, we will be celebrating the Holy Eucharist on Sunday’s at 7:00 PM (during the Season of Lent ONLY) at St Francis of Assisi Parish in Cornwall.

1) “Exploring Franciscan Spirituality” A Series Presented by the St Francis of Assisi Fraternity. Four Tuesday evening presentations (Feb 27, March 6, 13 & 20 at 7:00 PM), exploring the life and charisma of St Francis and St Clair of Assisi and how it challenges us today. (open to everyone)



2) “A Reading of the Letter of Paul to the Galatians” A Seminar directed by Fr. John Molina. Four Wednesday evening Sessions (Feb 28, March 7, 14 & 21 at 7:00 PM), studying, analyzing and exploring the history and theology of the document. (10 participants only)
