Our Lenten Dyings & Risings

The St Dunstan’s University Institute of Christianity and Culture at UPEI invites the public to a lecture entitled, “Human Gene Editing: Ethics and Regulatory Landscape in Europe” by Father Emmanuel Agius professor of Moral Theology and Philosophical Ethics at the University of Malta.   Father Agius is a member of the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies and a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life.    The lecture will be held on Wednesday March 4th, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in the lecture theatre of the K.C. Irving Chemistry Centre on the UPEI campus.  Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

Our Lady of Knock

Annual Women & Men’s Retreat: Our theme will be “Jesus Christ the Lamb of God and the Knock Apparition”. We will pray and reflect upon the significance of the Knock Apparition and its primary focus upon Jesus appearing as the Mystical Lamb. Additionally, we shall look at each of those present in the event: Mary, Our Lady of Knock, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist. Fr. John Molina will be leading a Lenten retreat at Our Lady of Hope Retreat Centre from Friday March 6th until Sunday March 8th.  The weekend begins with registration and room assignments at 6 pm followed by Mass at 7 and concludes after lunch on Sunday.    The cost is $170.00 per person or $255.00 per married couple. Join us for a wonderful afternoon of music at “Music at the Manse” located at 14155 St. Peter’s Road in Marshfield.  This is a new show featuring new songs and inspirational stories which are unique every week.  Performances by Tim Archer, International Gospel singer, with Ricky Lee and Jeff Grey. The setting is a beautifully restored 1830’s Manse which seats 45 per show. Your $15 admission also includes a homemade dessert and coffee or tea. Doors open every Sunday at 1 pm, show is at 2 pm. Pilgrimage to the Holy Land (update – only 1 seat remaining):  Want to experience something of the life of Jesus? Do you want to experience the places that our Lord walked and where He spoke to the people? Join Fr. Andrew Handrahan on a guided pilgrimage to some of Israel’s holy sites. From October 21st-29th, 2020, the pilgrimage will travel to the Holy Land and visit such places as Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Mount of Transfiguration, Jerusalem, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Step into the River Jordan where Jesus was baptized, and stand on the hill where Jesus gave his sermon on the mount; walk through the places that our Lord himself walked, and experience the city of Jerusalem as you make the way of the cross which Jesus suffered. Our Lady of the Cape
