St. James Church in Georgetown will be holding Bingo every Friday at 6 p.m. to raise funds for a much-needed chair lift for their parish centre, enabling easy access for all parishioners and visitors to enjoy building community together.  Everyone most welcome.

West Prince Right to Life

The West Prince Right to Life will be having their next peaceful demonstration on Dec. 14th at 11:00 am in Summerside on Roy Boats Ave. on the side of Walmart.  All are welcomed to attend.

St. Dunstan’s Basilica hosts its annual Christmas Concert on Friday, December 20 at 7 pm. Program includes “The Wonder of Christmas”, and carols by John Rutter, all performed by a 40 voice choir and accompanied by the PEI Pops! under the direction of Leo Marchildon. Doors open at 6 pm and admission is by donation. Due to fire regulations, a limited number of ticket stubs will be handed out upon arrival. Once the stubs run out, doors will close, so be sure to arrive early for what has become one of the most popular events of the season.

January Retreat with Fr. Brendon

There will be a general retreat with Fr. Brendon Gallant  themed Meeting Jesus in the “Ordinary” of Your Life  at Our Lady of Hope Retreat Centre  January 17-19, 2020.   The weekend begins with registration and room assignments from 6-7 followed by Mass at 7 pm.    The cost is $170.00 per person or $255.00 per married couple. To avoid disappointment, reserve your spot early by calling the Centre at 902-621-2385 or 902-388-1952.

The PEI Catholic Women’s League invites Catholic girls and women attending colleges and universities to apply for the Catholic Girls Bursary by the deadline of January 31, 2020.  Applications are available at the back of the church or in the parish office.

Advent Sunday: December 8, Glastonbury Hall (lower level, St. Dunstan’s Basilica, Dorchester St. entrance)  Sung Evening Prayer, followed by reflection on the Scriptures of Advent. 6:30-7:45 pm.  Led by Fr. Keith.   All welcome!

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: Want to experience something of the life of Jesus? Do you want to experience the places that our Lord walked and where He spoke to the people? Join Fr. Andrew Handrahan on a guided pilgrimage to some of Israel’s holy sites. From October 21st-29th, 2020, the pilgrimage will travel to the Holy Land and visit such places as Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Mount of Transfiguration, Jerusalem, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Step into the River Jordan where Jesus was baptized, and stand on the hill where Jesus gave his sermon on the mount; walk through the places that our Lord himself walked, and experience the city of Jerusalem as you make the way of the cross which Jesus suffered.
