2020 Valentines For Vets

February 10, 2020

The children of the St. Dunstan’s Basilica Religious Education Program have recently gathered to support the Veterans Affairs Canada project, Valentines for Vets.

The students were able to make 100 hand-crafted valentine cards sharing heartfelt messages of love and gratitude for Veterans who served in the Canadian Military.

The children were very excited to create valentine cards to give to these men and women who have helped preserve the freedom we are blessed with today.

Many of the valentine cards are currently being received at rehabilitation centers and long-term care facilities across Canada to be given to Veterans in celebration of Valentine’s Day this coming Friday.

We have also brought several cards to be handed out this Friday to our cherished Veterans at Whisperwood Villa PEI.

Here we see Johanne Waite receiving the valentine cards at Veterans Affairs Canada.

We would like to say a special thank you to all the children of the St. Dunstan’s Basilica Religious Education Program who are learning to express their faith through acts of kindness, generosity, and love. We are very proud of you!
